Rules

  1. Any artist, musician, producer, industry professional or anyone may choose any song from our catalog and record their version of the song and make a record.
  2. Mark Clayton Songs will release the record and use their name as the artist provided it is released under the Mark Clayton Songs record label, website and digital music distributor Tunecore. All records will be released on all major digital music platforms that are available through the Tunecore digital platforms. No exceptions.
  3. They will receive 75% of the streaming royalties from the release of the record.
  4. When their record exceeds 10,000 streams they will then receive 25% of the publishing revenues, if any, that are generated from their released record.
  5. When their record exceeds 25,000 streams they will then receive 35% of the publishing revenues, if any, that are generated from their released record.
  6. When their record exceeds 50,000 streams they will then receive 50% of the publishing revenues, if any, that are generated from their released record.
  7. Mark Clayton Songs retains all rights with the song itself along with the publishing. The streaming and publishing revenues offered above only remain with the record released, not the original song itself. All copyrights, publishing and ownership of the song remain with Mark Clayton Songs. 
  8. A one-time submission fee of US $45.00, per record, is required and nonrefundable. You will need to fill out the online entry form with your full contact details. All songs are entered online in either WAV or MP3 files. There is a PayPal charge of US $45.00 per record submitted. 
  9. All participants will receive quarterly statements from Tunecore, through Mark Clayton Songs, showing any revenues from their record. 
  10. All records must be released through Mark Clayton Songs and Tunecore account to qualify for payment of any revenues. No streaming or publishing revenues will be paid if any record is released under another record label or digital music distributor. Mark Clayton Songs retain all ownership of the song along with 100% of the publishing rights.
  11. Contestants may enter as many songs/records in as many styles as desired but each entry requires a separate WAV or MP3 file and entry form. Entry fee is nonrefundable. Mark Clayton Songs is not responsible for late, lost or damaged, misdirected, misappropriated entries.
